Say Goodbye to Dull, Brittle & Frizzy Locks with this Hair Mask Hack!

Updated: Jul 2, 2022

Did you know that you can use Aztec Secret Indian Healing Facial Clay… on your hair?! Okay, now it does not really say that you should do this on the packaging. In fact I’m sure that many of you out there have already discovered its amazing value for deep cleansing your pores! However, it looks like this is the magical clay that just keeps on giving. It is so bomb that I want to share this with anyone else who is struggling to achieve SALON WORTHY results at home. We are talking about after just ONE wash (I’m not even joking)! It is not much of a surprise because the "secret" is pretty backed by science. It is the power of age-old Organic Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with the clay and distilled water. These three kick-ass ingredients are all beneficial for your hair and each aid in detoxifying your tresses.

ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) has quite a few well-known healthy properties. Many individuals ingest it, apply it to their face as a toner, and even use it as a hair rinse! We will peep those dope, beneficial properties before I get to the application technique. {Click the image below to unlock silky smooth hair and skin today! ACIDITY/PH BALANCE

So, some of you may not be fully aware of that most shampoos are designed to be alkaline-based. Hair PH should be between 4 and 5 - that's on the acidic side. Alkaline is anything 7 and up. Because of that we should be weary and selective of the brands that we choose to soak our beautiful locks in, no matter how short or long they may be! If you find your hair to be dull, brittle, and frizzy then ACV’s acetic acid properties should be able to lower your hair back to balance on the PH scale.

ANTIMICROBACTERIAL PROPERTIES

This one is pretty dope because it can relieve an itchy scalp by keeping the fungus and bacteria at bay. This one is backed by scientific research (and who doesn't love them some science)?!

DISTILLED WATER

Unlike tap or filtered, distilled water is free from minerals, toxins, medications, and bacteria. In fact, regular tap water strips your tresses of moisture, reduces its growth, and causes hair loss. I do not know about you, but I like the voluptuous curls on my tiny head! When ingested, distilled water can also help you feel more energetic and healthier than tap or purified water. That was just a fun fact to get your gears a turnin’.

INGREDIENTS & DIRECTIONS

This small batch makes enough for short to shoulder length hair. Increase the mixture for longer hair or for a complete spa day at home!

1/3 cup of Aztec Healing Clay

1/3 cups of water

A little under 1/3 cup of ACV

I find myself needing to add a bit more powder to my mixture. I stir in small amounts of the clay powder until I reach a mud-like paste.

APPLICATION

Pre-part your DRY not wet hair into sections (just do it trust me things can get out of hand very fast) and apply the concoction to your locks from root to tip. This will allow the clay mask to remove dirt, oils, and product build up. Let the clay harden for at least 20 minutes. I personally waited about 45 minutes and did a few things around my home. You will notice a strong scent of vinegar but do not worry because you will not smell it after you rinse it out hunnay! Make sure that you rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water! You do not want to be picking out chunks of dry clay when you are trying to style your hair. Don't be that person - be patient and just take your time. Your hair will literally feel softer than it has ever felt as you rinse this stuff out. Like, my jaw dropped when I was in the shower and I am sure that yours will too!

POST WASH

Apply your favorite conditioner after you wash the clay out of your hair. I love to use Peace, Love & Planet. They're free of silicone, parabens and vegan as fuck which is nice. Feel free to snag that here by clicking on the image!

Because the Indian Secret Healing Clay and ACV act as a natural cleanser for your scalp, you can ditch the shampoo (if you want) especially if you suffer from extreme hair moisture loss, like me! Make sure that you dry your beautiful, silky, strands with a soft 100% cotton towel or t-shirt to avoid unnecessary snagging!
